Right now, more than ever, our hearts are filled with an unwavering desire to love boldly and to serve our city well. No matter who you are or what you believe, we hope you’ll join us.
Rev. Joy Gonzalez
Joy lives up to her name. She actually is joyful and loves to bring joy to everyone around her. She’s a fantastic pastor, person and friend, the perfect blend of hip and polished. She’ll meet you for lunch, an afternoon coffee, or a live concert. Joy lives in Uptown, has a husband, two kids and a tattoo of Teresa of Avila on her left shoulder. She’s also short and sweet, like this bio. Need a little Joy in your life? Reach out to her any time.
Rev. Elizabeth Moseley
Elizabeth can’t sit still. She likes to get stuff done, especially when people say it can’t be done. She loves good food, good music, and good weather. Elizabeth takes her work much more seriously than she takes herself. She’s got a loud laugh, can be slightly sarcastic, and she’s always got your back. She’s an amazing pastor, a loyal friend, a remarkably average mom, and a loving wife. Her husband, three kids and a few plants agree.
We LOVE the vibrant, urban, accessible spirit of Uptown. We walk from food to fun and from work to play. So we wondered, what if we make church just as accessible? What if we live, work, play and worship right here in the heart of our city?
…and that was the moment our church was born.
We've launched a whole new kind of campus for Highland Park United Methodist Church. One that connects virtually on Instagram and Facebook, on a run down the Katy Trail, over coffee at Griggs Park, at brunch, lunch, small groups, Zoom and starting January 10, at House of Blues every Sunday! We’re creating a church in our city and for our city. While our lives and careers are in constant motion, Uptown Church is a community we can belong to, a cause we can live for and a church we can all call home.
